A Celebration of Mark’s Life will be held at 12:00 P.M. Noon Friday December 1, 2017 at the First Christian Church of Oblong 206 N. Range St. Oblong, IL with Bro. Dee Wolf officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. till Noon at the church.

Mark Jacobs, 78, Oblong, IL passed away at his home on Thursday November 23, 2017.
Mark was born on March 4, 1939 and was the son of Albert Jacobs and Edna (Mendenhall) Jacobs. On November 29, 1958 he married Donna Schlosser and she survives.
Mark graduated from Oblong High School in 1957. After graduating Mark worked at the Ettlebrick Shoe Company in Robinson, IL and also did roofing. He then went to work for Marathon Petroleum Company and retired working in the laboratory. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Oblong, IL and the Gold Wings Rider Association. Mark enjoyed going to all the athletic events that his son and grandson participated in. When his son Troy was racing Mark went with him where ever he was racing to show his support.
Mark is survived by his wife Donna Jacobs of Oblong, IL; son and daughter-in-law Troy and Marie Jacobs of Robinson, IL; a grandson Alec Jacobs of Oblong, IL; four step grandchildren Aaron and daughter Harper White of Terre Haute, IN, Brandon and Hanna and son Waylon White of Hutsonville, IL and Curtis and Dylan White of Robinson, IL; brothers and sister-in-law Richard and Linda McCoy of St. Louis, MO and Roy Schlosser of Robinson, IL
Mark is preceded in death by his parents; son Todd Jacobs; sister and brother-in law Rosetta “Rose” and Donald Houdasheldt; nephews Rick Houdasheldt and Dan Houdasheldt, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Paul and Florence Schlosser.
